Managing Risk at Domino’s Pizza

“If we assume ten cases a month then we can save $100,000 a year”
Chris Harman – National Security and Loss Prevention Manager, Domino’s Pizza

For many organisations, developing a system that offers a leading indicator to alert management to potential challenges or opportunities remains something of a holy grail. But Domino’s Pizza has now grasped the grail, with the creation of a system that provides early alerts of potential fraud, and also access to data which can then be used to secure prosecutions.

Chris Harman, national security and loss prevention manager for Domino’s Pizza, and a former military police investigator, championed the development of the system, known internally as Sherlock, to provide him with daily reports based on store supplied information that could help identify trading anomalies that might indicate fraud.
